Some changes will not take effect, however, until the next system cold boot. Configuration Fields Main Menu Security Menu Update BIOS Menu Main Menu Date and Time Date: Enter Month, Date, and Year. Time: Enter Hour, Minute, and Second in 24-hour format. Power Management Power Management: Choose Max Battery Life or Max Performance. If you choose Max Performance, the system will not suspend automatically, nor will the LCD Display power down unless manually turned off. Characterize Battery: Choose Enable or Disable. Enable only when initializing a battery for communicating fuel gauge information. System Suspend Options SmartSleep: Choose Enable, No Delay, or Disable. Choose Enable to cause system to enter SmartSleep power-off mode when a suspended system issues a low battery warning. Choose No Delay to cause system to enter SmartSleep power-off mode as soon as system enters suspend mode. Resume on Modem Ring: Choose Enable or Disable. Enable to have system "wake up" from suspend when an incoming call is received by the modem. System cannot "wake up" from SmartSleep. Resume on Schedule: Choose Enable or Disable. Enable to have system "wake up" from suspend at a specified time. System cannot "wake up" from SmartSleep. Boot Options Mouse Connected to: Choose Mouse Port, Serial Port 1, Serial Port 2, or None. Parallel Port Type: Choose Standard, Enhanced, or Disable. Boot Device: Choose Try Floppy First, Try Hard Drive Only, or Try PowerStation. Speaker: Choose Enable, Disable, or Warnings Only. Keyboard Clicks: Choose Enable or Disable. Simultaneous Video: Choose Enable or Disable. Serial Ports: Choose one of the following: Port 1 - 3F8h; Port 2 - 2F8h * Port 1 - 3F8h; Port 2 - Disable Port 1,2 - Disable * Port 2 affects EasyPort or PowerStation only. PowerStation Options Floppy Drive B: Choose None, 360KB, 1.2MB, 720KB, or 1.44MB. Security Menu SmartKey ID: Choose Clear or Establish. A SmartKey must be plugged into the PS/2 Port before setting this field to Establish. Admin Security: Choose Enable or Disable. SmartKey field (above) must be set to Establish before enabling an Admin Password. User Security: Choose Enable or Disable. Admin Security field (above) must be set to Enable before enabling a User Password. Lock Keyboard: Choose Disable or 5-30 Minutes (in 5 minute increments). The keyboard is password-locked after the defined number of inactive minutes. Lock Floppy: Choose Disable or Enable. Enable to deny access to the floppy drive for any user without the Admin Password. Password at Boot: Choose Enable or Disable. If set to Disable when a password is enabled, the keyboard locks during boot. Exit to Main Menu * Enter the Admin Password for full access to all CMOS Setup Fields. If the User Password is entered to gain access to the system, many CMOS Setup Fields are unavailable. * If the password is forgotten or lost, plugging the established Security Key into the mouse port will override all security features. Update BIOS Menu Revision: Displays revision of the current BIOS, BMC, and BIOS Loader; for reference only. BIOS Update Options: Choose: - Update and Save Changes or - Update without Saving Changes.
