The following setting are available after selecting User: Size: Indicates the physical size of the hard drive (3 ½ or 5 ¼) Cyls: Indicates the number of cylinders in the drive Head: Indicates the number of read/write heads in the hard drive Precomp: See drive documentation for correct information Landz: See drive documentation for correct information Sector: Indicates the number of sectors per track in the hard drive Mode: Indicates the addressing mode of the hard drive Floppy Disk A: Choose None, 360 KB, 720 KB, 1.2 MB, 1.44 MB or 2.88 MB. This defines the drive attached to the end of the floppy cable. Floppy Disk B: Choose None, 360 KB, 720 KB, 1.2 MB, 1.44 MB or 2.88 MB. This defines the drive attached to the middle of the floppy cable. Video: Choose Mono, EGA/VGA, CGA40, or CGA80. Halt On: Choose No Errors; All, But Keyboard; All, But Diskette; All But Disk/Key; and All Errors. Base Memory: Shows the size of conventional memory detected. Extended Memory: Shows the size of extended memory detected. Other Memory: Shows the size of other memory detected. Total Memory: Shows the total memory detected. [ BIOS FEATURES SETUP ] Virus Warning: Choose Enabled or Disabled. Displays a warning message whenever any attempt is made to write to the boot sector of the hard disk. Quick Power On Self Test: Choose Enabled or Disabled. Allows the computer to boot more quickly by skipping sections of the self-test performed computer is turned on. Boot Sequence: Choose A,C; C,A; C,CDROM,A; CDROM,C,A; or C only. Security Option: Choose Setup or System. Determines when the password is required. PS/2 Mouse Function Control: Choose Enabled or Disabled. Enables or disables the onboard mouse port. [ POWER MANAGEMENT SETUP ] Power Management Mode: Choose Disabled, Min Saving, User Define, and Max Saving. PM Control by APM: Choose Yes or No. Allows an advanced operating system to perform power management. Video Off Method: Choose Blank Screen, V/H SYNC + Blank, and DPMS. Sets the method used to shut down the video when the computer is on but not in use. Modem Use IRQ: Choose NA, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, or 11. Sets the interrupt request line that is used by the modem if one is installed in the computer. Doze Mode: Choose Disabled, 1 min, 2 min, 4 min, 6 min, 8 min, 10 min, 20 min, 30 min, 40 min, or 1 hour. Sets the time interval after the computer stops receiving input from the user before it enters Doze mode. Standby Mode: Choose Disabled, 1 min, 2 min, 4 min, 6 min, 8 min, 10 min, 20 min, 30 min, 40 min, or 1 hour. Sets the time interval after the computer stops receiving input from the user before it enters Standby mode. Suspend Mode: Choose Disabled, 1 min, 2 min, 4 min, 6 min, 8 min, 10 min, 20 min, 30 min, 40 min, or 1 hour. Sets the time interval after the computer stops receiving input from the user before it enters Suspend mode. HDD Power Down: Choose Disabled, or a number between 1 min and 15 min. Sets how long the computer will wait after the last time the disk is accessed before it will shut down the hard drive to save power. Wake Up Events in Doze and Standby: Choose IRQ3(COM2), IRQ4(COM1), IRQ8(RTC alarm), or IRQ12(PS/2 mouse). Identifies the IRQ line that the system watches to determine when to wake up from doze or standby. Power Down and Resume Events: Choose ON or OFF for each of the following: IRQ3(COM2), IRQ4(COM1), IRQ5(LPT2), IRQ6(floppy drive), IRQ7(LPT1), IRQ8(RTC alarm), IRQ9(IRQ2 redirect), IRQ10(reserved), IRQ11(reserved), IRQ12(PS/2 mouse), IRQ13(coprocessor), IRQ14(hard drive), and IRQ15(reserved). Lists the IRQ lines that the system will watch to determine when to wake up from suspend mode. [ LOAD BIOS DEFAULTS ] Allows the user to automatically configure all of the options in the previous menus using the values in the ROM BIOS table. The fields in Standard CMOS Setup are not affected. [ INTEGRATED PERIPHERALS ] On-Chip Primary PCI IDE: Choose Enabled or Disabled. On-Chip Secondary PCI IDE: Choose Enabled or Disabled. USB Controller: Choose Enabled or Disabled. Onboard FDC Controller: Choose Enabled or Disabled. On-Chip Secondary PCI IDE: Choose Enabled or Disabled. Onboard Serial Port 1: Choose Disabled, 3F8/IRQ4, 2F8/IRQ3, 3E8/IRQ4, 2E8/IRQ3, or Auto.. Onboard Serial Port 2: Choose Disabled, 3F8/IRQ4, 2F8/IRQ3, 3E8/IRQ4, 2E8/IRQ3, or Auto.. UART2 Mode: Choose Standard, IrDA, or ASK-IR. Selects the mode for the second serial port. Duplex Select: Choose Half or Full. Selects the duplex mode used by an IR device that is connected to J27. TxD, RxD Active: Choose Lo,Lo; Hi,Lo; Lo,Hi; or Hi,Hi. Sets the transmit and receive active level for the serial ports. Onboard Parallel Port: Choose Disabled, 3BC/IRQ7, 378/IRQ7, or 278/IRQ5. Parallel Port Mode: Choose Normal, EPP1.7+SPP, ECP+EPP1.7, SPP, EPP1.9+SSP, ECP, or ECP+EPP1.9. ECP Mode Use DMA: Choose 1 or 3. Selects the DMA channel to be used by the parallel port if it is in ECP mode. Onboard Audio Chip: Choose Enabled or Disabled. [ USER PASSWORD ] Allows the user to set a user password to restrict access to the computer or to the System Setup program. NOTE: If you access the user password option, then press without entering a password, the user password function is disabled. [ SAVE & EXIT SYSTEM SETUP ] This command saves the changes the user has made in CMOS RAM, then exits System Setup and reboots the computer.
