Main Menu Advanced Menu Security Menu Power Management Menu Boot Menu Exit Menu ***************************************************************************************************************************** [ MAIN MENU ] System Time: Enter Hour, Minute, and Second in 24-hour format. System Date: Enter Date, Month, and Year. Diskette A: Enter drive type or select Not Installed. IDE Adapter 0 Master: to display sub-menu for configuring the boot drive. Fields in the sub-menu are listed (inset) below. Autotype Fixed Disk: to auto-detect and configure. If drive is detected correctly, to leave this sub-menu. Otherwise, see other fields below. Type: Select a type number from 1-39, or to User. For all of the following configuration fields to have any effect, Type must be set to User. Cylinders: Enter the number of cylinders for the drive. Heads: Enter the number of heads for the drive. Sectors/Track: Enter the number of sectors per track for the drive. Write Precomp: Enter the write precompensation location for the drive. Multi-Sector Transfers: Select Disabled (default); 2 Sectors; 4 Sectors; 8 Sectors; or 16 Sectors. LBA (Logical Block Access) Mode Control: Select Enabled or Disabled. 32 Bit I/O: Select Enabled or Disabled. Transfer Mode: Select Standard (default); Fast PIO 1; Fast PIO 2; Fast PIO 3; or Fast PIO 4. IDE Adapter 1 Master: to display sub-menu for configuring a master IDE device on a secondary controller f(docking station). Fields in the sub-menu are identical to those documented above for IDE Adapter 0 Master. Boot Options: to display submenu Summary Screen: Choose Enabled to display system configuration on boot, or Disable. Floppy Check: Choose Enabled to verify floppy type on boot, or Disable. Touch Pad: Select Enable, or Disabled. Screen Expansion: Choose Enable, or Disable. System Memory: Displays the amount of conventional memory detected by your computer during startup; for reference only. Extended Memory: Displays the amount of extended memory detected by your computer during startup; for reference only. [ ADVANCED MENU ] Integrated Peripherals: to access the Itegrated Peripherals sub-menu (below). COM Port: Select Disabled, Auto, *03F8/IRQ4, 03E8/IRQ4, 02E8/IRQ3, or 02F8/IRQ3. IrDA Port: Select Disabled, Auto, *03F8/IRQ4, 03E8/IRQ4, 02E8/IRQ3, or 02F8/IRQ3. * When the computer is attached to a port replicator, the infrared port and the built-in serial port are automatically disabled. When the Serial Port field is disabled, its I/O address is available for a PC Card modem or other device. If both the Serial Port and the Infrared options are enabled, any PC serial card will be assigned to a COM3 address and may require a reconfiguration of the PC Card drivers or a special driver from the PC Card manufacturer. LPT Port: Select Disabled, Auto, *0378/IRQ 5, 0278/IRQ 5, or 0378/IRQ 7. LPT Mode: Select Output only, *Bi-directional, or ECP. Diskette controller: Choose Enable or Disable. Local Bus IDE adapter: Enables the integrated local bus IDE adapter on an optional docking station. Select Primary , Secondary, or Disabled. Plug-and-Play OS: Select Yes or No. If set to Yes, configuration of the I/O ports is turned over to the Operating System. Large Disk Access Mode: Select DOS or Other. Enables your computers operating system to work with drives larger than 540 MB. Choose DOS for Microsoft operating systems. Choose Other for any other operating systems. [ SECURITY MENU ] Password is: Specifies whether or not a password is enabled; for reference only. Set Password: , then type a password of up to seven characters. Enter password again for verification. To delete a password, press at the Password and Verification prompts. Password on boot: Select Enabled or Disabled. Fixed Disk Boot Sector: Select Normal or Write Protect. [ POWER MANAGEMENT MENU ] Power Savings: Select Low, medium, high, user defined, or off. Choosing modes changes sytem power management settings. If User Defined is selected the following fields become accessable: Doze Timeout : Select 0.5 sec, Off, 16 sec, 8 sec, 2 sec, or 1 sec. Doze mode slows down the CPU during brief periods when the system is not busy. Standby Timeout : Select 1 min, Off, 30 min, 12 min, 4 min, or 2 min, or 1 min. Rest Timeout : Select Off, 32, min, 16 min, 8 min, 4 min, 2 min, or 1 min. HDD Timeout: Select Off, or a timeout value of 2 to 20 minutes. This field may be configured only if Power Savings (above) is set to Customize. Modem Ring Wake up: Select Disable or Enable. Field cannot be set to On if Save to Disk (above) is enabled. [ BOOT MENU ] For the below options, select item to relocate using the up and down arrow keys. Use the + and - keys to move the highlighted boot device up or down in the priority list. 1. Diskette Drive: 2. Hard Drive 3. CD-ROM Drive [ EXIT SYSTEM SETUP MENU ] Save Changes & Exit: Current configuration options are saved to CMOS memory, and the system reboots. Exit Without Saving Changes: Current configuration options are discarded, and the system reboots. Get Default Values: Resets all settings to factory default. Load Previous Values: Changes settings to previously saved values. Save Changes: Saves changes made without exiting Setup.
