BOCA 33600 Data/FAX/Answering Machine AST Part Number 234513-003 This board adds basic Sound Board capabilities, including a telephone answering machine, to the standard FAX/Modem. Sound output is sent to the PC Speaker or to a sound board. This adapter also allows the user to use the microphone and speakers as a hands-free telephone. A telephone answering machine is also integrated. Connectors: On the rear bracket, from top to bottom, are: - RJ-11 Jack (to wall) - RJ-11 Jack (to telephone) - Microphone In - Speaker Out (plugged, do not use) * If the system includes two microphone jacks, one on the modem and the other on a sound card, use the modem jack. * If the system includes two speaker jacks, one on the modem and the other on the sound card, use the sound card jack. There are two cable headers on the circuit board: J2 Not used - do not jumper J3 4-Pin header for PC SPKR and the MIDI connector from the sound board. Configuration: This modem is fully Plug 'n Play compatible. It is detected and configured during boot. Change configuration options by using the Windows 95 Device Manager. If the configuration is lost for any reason, the Device Manager will request the diskette for driver installation. Use the AST Disk Utility or Microsoft Create System Disks untility to create the dikette. * The communications software installed by AST requires the modem to be set to COM: 2 (02F8h, IRQ 3).
