POWEREXEC NOT SMARTSLEEPING
PROBLEM: The PowerExec will not go into SmartSleep mode if one of the
following conditions exist;
Resume On Modem Ring is enabled under System Setup.
Resume On Schedule is enabled under System Setup.
External monitor is connected.
Simultaneous Video option has been changed since last cold
boot.
CAUSE: When SmartSleep is activated, data in system and video memory
is stored to the hard disk and the system is turned off. To
resume operation from SmartSleep, the power switch must be
used to turn the system on.
External hardware that can be physically connected to the
PowerExec such as modems and monitors do not support a
smartsleep feature.
This is why there is a SmartSleep abort built into the
PowerExec for the above conditions.
SYSTEMS
AFFECTED: All PowerExec SL systems.
SOLUTION: Disconnect or disable the condition that prevents the system
from going into SmartSleep.
