TITLE:  Ascentia J, PCMCIA, Windows NT 3.51
 
 
ISSUE 
 
   When running Windows NT 3.51 on an Ascentia J system, the PCMCIA 
   device cannot be started using the default drivers shipped with 
   the operating system.
   
   This issue affects all Ascentia J systems.    

 
BACKGROUND 
 
   The Ascentia J system BIOS, version 1.05, AST part number 
   905577-034 or lower, may cause the issue noted above.    

 
ACTION 
 
   Update the Ascentia J system BIOS to version 3.11, AST part 
   number 905599-031 or higher.  File 05599031.EXE is available from 
   one of AST's On-Line! services as follows:
