TITLE  Modem Will Not Disconnect the Call.

SUMMARY

   Occasionally, the modem will not disconnect a call properly. As a 
   result, the modem continues to "squeal" when picking up the 
   telephone receiver. The easiest way to resolve this problem is to 
   use a modem command to disconnect the modem. Follow this procedure 
   to resolve the issue: 
   
   1. Click on Start button, and then choose Programs from the menu. 
   
   2. Choose Accessories, and then HyperTerminal from the expanded 
   menus. 
   
   3. Double-click on the HyperTerminal icon. 
   
   4. Enter a name in the "Name:" field, and then click on the OK 
   button. 
   
   5. Enter a phone number, and then click on the OK button. 
   
   6. Click on the OK button on the Connect screen. 
   
   7. Enter the following command: 
   
   ATH 
   
   8. Wait for the OK response. 
   
   9. Pick up the receiver, and check the phone line.
